Rahm Emanuel, current Mayor of Chicago and former Chief of Staff to President Barack Obama, spoke in conversation with Lois Romano, Senior Political Reporter at Politico. Mayor Emanuel addressed the growing importance of local government, especially in light of the recent federal shutdown. In particular, he stressed the importance of strengthening primary through collegiate education and detailed recent initiatives by Chicago to do so. He also discussed the economy, infrastructural improvement, and crime.
